THE COLOR PINK IN HOME DESIGN
My recent obsession is finding objects that are light pink. I find that the light pink shade exudes a sort of aura that is calm, clean, and warm. I favor lighter shades of bright colors such as orange and yellow because they represent calmer energies within spaces that are not distracting but still have a positive psychological effect. Who can get angry in a pink room?
Here are my recent favorite incorporations of pink in various designs:
PINK BED SHEETS: I personally own light pink bed sheets. As we go deeper into the winter months and the sun sets at 4pm, the light pink color instantly brightens up any room. In Scandinavian interior designs found in Nordic countries such as Finland, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, and Sweden, natural colors, such as floral undertones are used to bring nature in to the home.
PINK RUGS: If you’re not so crazy about the whole pink vibe, the color can be introduced into a space through patterns. A patterned rug with the color pink softly adds vibrancy. As pictured above, the rug compliments the bed sheets and harmonizes with the rest of the natural toned furniture to create a cohesive look. The pattern within the color pink in the rug adds depth and texture without muting the room.
BATHROOM: I used to be scared of adding texture or color to rooms, especially bathrooms. I find that allowing lighter shades of natural colors to flow into the bathroom as well, creates continuity within the home. Vertical tiles make a space look taller. The brown brass shower head creates a great natural contrast and has a soothing energy with the inclusion of the salt lamp installed in the wall.
KITCHEN: This kitchen uses a large piece of pink quartz as its island. The pink rose quartz also known as Hyaline Quartz, is known to have many healing properties and represents infinite peace. The use of rose quartz in a kitchen creates a delicate feel and a softer space.
FLORALS: If incorporating the color pink within your home still feels like too much of a commitment, opt in for buying pink florals. Florals are an easy way to elevate a space and theres no better way to embrace thnature indoors than adding in plants. Any bouquet of pink flowers can work, with my personal favorites being pink tulips and peonies.
ART: Art is another easy way to incorporate hues of pink in a space. Art can be easily moved around and changed throughout seasons and does not have to be expensive.
